Hot Italian Sando with Supreme Leaf Lettuce
Serves: 4
Total Time: 20 min.
INGREDIENTS
1 12" ciabatta loaf
4 oz. sliced mortadella
4 oz. sliced prosciutto cotto or other ham
2 oz. sliced salami
4 oz. sliced provolone
4 oz. Supreme Leaf
1/4 c. peperoncinis
1/4 c. giardiniera, drained and finely chopped
3 T mayonnaise
1/2 t smoked paprika
Preparation
Preheat oven to 400. Slice ciabatta lengthwise through the middle like a hamburger bun, leaving a top and a bottom. Place both halves cut side up on a sheet tray. In a small bowl whisk together giardiniera, mayo and paprika. Spread mayo mixture evenly over both sides of bread. On the bottom side, layer all the meats, overlapping slightly and folding if the slices hang too far over the edges of the bread. Layer the provolone on top of the meat stack. Bake both sides of bread in oven for 5-10 minutes, until warm, starting to crisp and cheese looks melty. Remove from oven and pile Supreme Leaf and peperoncinis on top of cheese. Top with other half of ciabatta and slice into quarters. Serve warm.
